10/15/2007: "Support Scholarships for 2008 Graduates"

Bowl between 12:00 and 5:00 on Oct. 15th, 16th, 17th & 18th and Support Scholarships for 2008 Graduates.

The owner and the manager of Paradise Lanes, Roger Owen and Scott Olinger, are promoting a Bowling For Scholars week on Octoberl:15, 16, 17, & 18th. Any person who bowls between noon and 5:00 pm on those days, Paradise Lanes will give 25% of the proceeds to 2008 Graduates through Dollars For Scholars.

To help create interest and competition, the Lions Club, The Kiwanis Club, The Rotary Club, The Soroptimist Club, Friday Harbor High School, Friday Harbor Middle School, Friday Harbor Elementary School and the Spring Street School are challenging each other for a certificate and bragging rights.
Here are the team challenge rules:

1.) To count as a scored game, the game has to be bowled between noon and 5:00 pm.
2.) The total of the top four bowling scores for each group will be added up to find the winner.
3.) The service clubs’ scores must be comprised of at least two Club members and each Club is allowed to have two “Ringers”. A “Ringer” is anyone who wants to bowl and give any single game bowling score to any club they choose. A “Ringer” can bowl additional games to try and raise the score given, or to give a score to any other service club or school they want. Each bowling score can only be used one time.
4.) The schools’ scores must be comprised of at least one District employee and one student. The schools are allowed to have 2 ringers.
5.) Each group can seek a “Golden Ringer”. The “Golden Ringers” will come from the highest 8 scoring bowlers of the week. The highest “Golden Ringer’s” score goes to the group with the highest bid for the “Golden Ringer”, on down to the lowest “Golden Ringer” to the lowest bid. For example, if a person bids 20 cents a pin for a “Golden Ringer” and their group’s Golden Ringer scored 200 pts., then that person would pay $40 as a tax deductible donation to DFS for the “Golden Ringer’s” score. Any Club or school can bid or seek promoters and sponsors for a “Golden Ringer” to replace their group’s lowest score.
6.) Anyone can bowl, and become a “Ringer” or “Golden Ringer” for any group, and anyone can add $$ to the bid for a “Golden Ringer” for any group. The group with the highest accumulative collections gets the “Golden Ringer” score.
7.) Join us for the FUN at Paradise Lanes and help collect dollars for scholarships.

Individual names and group scores will be posted daily at Paradise Lanes. Please come out and support your group and 2008 Graduates.
Thank you, The Dollars For Scholars Board
