05/19/2007: "Friday Harbor Laboratories Open House"
(FHL photo))
(FH Lab Web Site Posting) We're very pleased to open our doors once again for FHL's Open House on Saturday, May 19. Our students and scientists will describe their research and show the diversity of critters found in local waters.
The public is invited to come aboard the Research Vessel Centennial to check out the array of oceanographic research equipment, including our Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). We'll also provide demonstrations of high power microscopes and other scientific equipment. There'll also be exhibits from the San Juan Nature Institute, San Juan County Marine Resources Committee, and WSU Beachcombers.
Dr. Eugene Kozloff will present a 40 minute talk entitled "Symbiosis: Interesting interrelationships between species." It'll be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Lecture Hall.
The FHL Open House is a kid-friendly event and fun for the entire family.
