01/24/2007: "Support Group Meets On SJI"

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and Relatives Raising Relatives Support Group will meet at the San Juan Island Family Resource Center on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 pm.

This group offers an opportunity for people who are either temporarily or permanently raising grandchildren or other relatives, to talk with each other and gain support for the many challenges inherent in this generous family commitment.

The group is led by Janna Gingras, a professional Social Worker who also parented a grandchild for several years. The group is confidential, free of charge, and open to anyone doing this kind of parenting. Drop-ins are welcome.
