06/29/2018: "Birthday Party for The Whale Museum July 8th"

The Whale Museum is having a party to celebrate its 39th Birthday. The event will take place on Sunday, July 8th from noon until 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the American Legion, next door to the museum.

The ticket price of $10 per person includes a burger (regular or veggie), chips, canned soda, and a birthday cupcake plus admission to The Whale Museum. The Museum’s Birthday Wish List can be found on the website at www.whalemuseum.org/pages/birthday.

The Whale Museum appreciates the American Legion Post #163 for use of the parking lot and patio for the celebration; the Sons of the American Legion for grilling the burgers; and Jenny for baking the birthday cupcakes. This is a celebration fundraiser for the museum which was community-built and has been supported by the community since before its doors opened to the public on July 8, 1979.

Tickets can be purchased at The Whale Museum or online at www.whalemuseum.org. For more information, call (360) 378-4710 ext. 30.

The Whale Museum is located in Friday Harbor at 62 First St. N. Founded in 1976, The Whale Museum’s mission is to promote stewardship of whales and the Salish Sea ecosystem through education and research. In addition to providing exhibits, the Museum also provides programs including the Marine Naturalist Training, Orca Adoption Program, SeaSound.org Acoustics, Soundwatch, San Juan County Marine Mammal Stranding Network, and the Whale Hotline.
