01/25/2017: "Underwater Noise And The Orcas"

Join the Unitarian Universalist fellowship Sunday Jan 29 10:30 at the Mullis Center to explore the interconnected web of life with a presentation by Dr Veirs.

Val Veirs lives and has a hydrophone laboratory on the westside of San Juan Island. He leads studies of the underwater noise from large commercial vehicles and seek to understand how this noise may compromise the use of acoustics by killer whales and other marine mammals and how ships might be quieted through new designs and operating procedures. You can listen to the Orcas at listen.orcasound.net.
