06/20/2012: "Volunteers Needed For Sewing Camp!"
Have you ever used a sewing machine? Would you like to help aspiring young seamstresses learn how? Island Rec is seeking volunteers to help out with our “Camp Stitch-A-Lot” program this summer, July 16th-20th.
The program runs from 1-4pm, Monday-Friday. This camp is designed to teach basic sewing techniques to youth aged 9-15.
Participants will learn how to operate a sewing machine, use patterns, measure & cut fabrics, and create their own personalized projects.
volunteers are needed who can assist in teaching the basics and help provide individual attention to participants, whether for the whole week or even just a few days.
Those interested in volunteering should contact Jason Davis at #378-4953 or jason@islandrec.org for more info.
