11/14/2011: "SJI Girl Scout Pie Sale"
Young island bakers and their parents are geared up and ready to continue a local tradition: Saving islanders the time of preparing Thanksgiving desserts and providing pies for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
Local Girl Scouts are taking pre-orders for homemade pumpkin and pecan pies. Orders must be placed by Friday, Nov. 18.
Pies can be picked up at Friday Harbor Presbyterian Church on Spring Street on Wednesday, November 24th from 9am to 2pm. Folks may also choose to donate their pie(s) to the Community Thanksgiving Dinner and the girls will deliver them.
Please note the change from years past. Pies must be pre-ordered and pickup is now at the church.
