08/24/2011: "Gary LeGate Killed In Auto Accident On Mainland"

Gary LeGate of Friday Harbor is reported to have been killed in an auto accident on his way to Mosses lake Washington.

Gary is known to hundreds of San Juan Islanders as the helpful and upbeat owner of Napa Auto Parts& Gary’s Automotive Center in Friday Harbor, Gary is reported to have been on a trip to see his father when he was involved in an vehicle accident on the mainland that tragically took his life.

According to the Washington State patrol report, his 2009 Ford Escape car was struck by a truck at an intersection. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries to his arm. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
