08/01/2011: "Gear Up For Our Schools"

Every year in our county there are students who come to class without basic supplies, but the “Gear Up” program for school supply collection effort by Islanders Bank helps provide needed supplies.
Collection points are set-up each year around Friday Harbor, Lopez & Orcas, and the donated school supplies are distributed by teachers to students for use in the classrooms from kindergarten through high school.
Every year teachers are found buying school supplies for their students who can't afford them. To help eliminate the burden on teachers and help classroom learning, Islanders Bank Teams are sponsoring "Gear Up For Our Schools" 2011-2012 Campaign from July 27th - August 27th. Teams hope to collect:

Color pencils
Erasers, Rulers & 8" Scissors
Three hole collee & wide ruled
notebook paper
Spiral wide ruled notebooks
Black/Blue pens
Graph paper
Glue sticks
Highlighters: green, pink, yellow & blue
Fine tipped colored markers
Crayons (standard & large)
Pencil/supply boxes & pouches
Water based markers & paints
3 ring 1.5" & 2 " binders w/pockets on
inside cover
Divider tabs w/ pockets on both sides
Pencil sharpeners
Green & red correcting pens
