The Society was founded by life long islanders who realized the importance of preserving our unique history. The Society has grown from humble beginnings of having small homemade display cases of artifacts located in the county courthouse to today’s museum grounds.
The San Juan Historical Museum is located on the former James King farm, which encompasses over an acre of green space with eight structures each containing exhibits showcasing the history of our island community.
To celebrate this milestone they will unveil a new exhibit which pays homage to our founders as well as looking back in time to what life was like on our island in half a century ago.
Come and see a collection of vintage farming equipment including tractors and a working threshing machine. There will be children’s games and activities, live music, classic cars and living history reenactments. Food, beer & wine available for purchase from the American Legion Auxiliary and much more!
Fun for the entire family and FREE admission!
