05/25/2011: "Interim Principal Interviews Tuesday"

The elementary principal search committee interviewed six candidates for the position principal. Following the interviews, three candidates were selected to interview with the staff and community. The date of the next interviews will be Tuesday, May 31. The three candidates are:

* Christy Collins served as a teacher, elementary principal, and special education coordinator in the Lake Washington School District.

* Marc Vermeier is a teacher at FHHS who has served in the roles of athletic director, assistant principal, and teacher in this district, and also served as an administrator on Lopez last year.

Each candidate will separately have conversations with staff and community members. The staff portion of the interviews will be held from 3:00 to 4:30 at the elementary school. The staff portion is not open to the public, but from 6:00 to 7:30 the community is invited to speak with each candidate who will have thirty minutes with community members. The names of the finalists and the schedule will be sent out by the end of the week. Staff and community will have the opportunity to provide input on each candidate.

Following the Tuesday interviews, the search team will meet on June 1, the next morning, to debrief staff and community feedback. From there, a job offer will be considered to the successful candidate.

Conversation with community members held in the FHES Library (open to the public). Each candidate will have an opportunity to provide an overview of their qualification and experience as well as a question and answer time for staff.
