05/24/2011: "County Closed Memorial Day & June 10"
San Juan County’s governmental offices, except for emergency dispatch and response services, will be closed Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day.
Most of the County's non-judicial offices, and its three solid waste facilities, will also be closed Friday June 10, which is the second of the County’s five budget-related employee furlough days.
County operations which will remain open include the Elections department which will be open to receive candidate filings, the Courts, and Emergency dispatch and the Sheriff’s department.
Elections department employees will be furloughed and the department closed on May 27th. Furlough days for court employees are staggered in order to meet state requirements for hours of operation.
The remaining designated employee furlough days for County governmental services personnel are: July 5, August 1, and September 2.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of service requirements, the County’s solid waste facilities have scheduled two of the remaining three employee furlough closures on different dates than other offices.
Solid Waste Facilities on Orcas and San Juan Island will be closed on July 7, August 5 and September 2.
The Lopez Island drop box facility will be closed on July 8, August 5 and September 2.
