07/23/2010: "Woman Struck In Crosswalk - Airlifted Off Island"
A Friday Harbor woman was struck and injured late Friday morning as she was walking across the street in downtown Friday Harbor. According to witnesses, a young woman was crossing on 2nd Street -reportedly in the crosswalk- when she was struck by a small pick-up truck making a turn off of 2nd street onto West Street.
One of the first responders stated it appeared she may have suffered a break to her leg, but in any case she was airlifted to St. Joseph Hospital in Seattle in stable condition for treatment of injuries.
