06/10/2010: "Soroptimist "100 Member Project""

Friday Harbor Soroptimists recently added its 100th member. To commemorate this milestone, the members voted to donate $100 to ten local programs. Because there are so many worthy programs in our community, it was difficult to narrow the choices to ten recipients that further the Soroptimist mission to improve the lives of women and children. The following programs will receive a $100 donation as part of the 100 Member Project:
* The Prevention Coalition;
* Alateen:
* Head Start:
* Camp Eagle Rock;
* S-Club (high school Soroptimist club at FHHS);
* Lighthouse Preschool;
* Planned Parenthood;
* coffee cards for the San Juan Eagles cancer mission pilots (cash donations not allowed by FAA regulations);
* DVSAS English As a Second Language Program;
* Island Museum of Art K-12 Program.
Francie Hansen was chosen as the project's administrator. For further information on Soroptimist activities, visit www.sifri.org.
