02/27/2010: "Tsunami Not A Danger Here"

Brendan Cowan, Director of Emergency Management in SJC states "There is no risk of tsunami for the waters of the San Juan Islands.

Due to the recent massive quake in Chile, the NOAA West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center has issued a tsunami advisory or watch for much of the West Coast of the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii. There is no risk of tsunami for the waters of the San Juan Islands."
