02/24/2010: "Rotary Donates To Schools"

The San Juan Island Rotary Club recently made several donations to support local schools.

In addition to the a $500.00 donation to the San Juan Island public Schools Foundation (photo above), the Middle School also received of cash awards (story & photo below)


Rotary President Yvonne Swanberg presents the school and class awards from the Spelling Bee to Mr. John McMain who teaches English at the Middle School, and Dalton Ayers the Spelling Bee overall winner.

The Middle School swept the top two positions earning $500 for the school, along with $150 and $100 for the 7th grade and 8th grade classes respectively.
