12/06/2009: "1st Place Salmon 16+ lbs"


Dennis Brooks of Mount Vernon, WA took home $5,000 for his 1st place salmon of 16 lbs 3 oz in the 1st Roche Harbor Annual Hook ‘em & Hold ‘em Salmon Derby & Texas Hold’em Tournament!

A sold out derby @ 150 tickets; anglers fished Friday & Saturday in Marine area 7 for their chance at $10,000 in cash prizes.

A total of 17 fish were weighed in: Dale Nelsen, Bellingham, WA hooked the second place fish -13lbs 8 oz -for $3000;
Jim Aggerggard , Anacortes, WA finished 3rd with 13lbs 2 oz - for $2000.

Texas Hold ‘em Tournament was a success with 40 anglers registering to play in the 2-night tournament. Poker Tournament paid out to 5 places;
$2400 1st place, Scott James, Arlington, WA;
$1200 2nd place, Daryl Bacon, Friday Harbor, WA;
$672 3rd place, Steve Stout, Marysville, WA;
$336 4th place, Craig Davis, Friday Harbor, WA and
$192 5th place, Dennis Harshberger, Friday Harbor, WA.
