08/14/2009: "Food Preservation Class"

A hands-on class about preserving food for the winter will be held on Orcas on August 22 10:00-3:00. The class includes various types of preservation methods such as canning, drying, fermentation. Bring clean jars and lids and excess food if possible. The class takes place at the home economics class at the high school. Call the Orcas Island Recreation Program at 376-5339 to register.
