Andy will begin with a brief overview of the range of sound made by different cetaceans and talk about their functions, then talk specifically about killer whale calls, about their function and how the environment and ecology shapes their acoustic behaviour. Andy will focus mainly on the southern residents, but also include information about transients, offshores and Icelandic killer whales.
This lecture will take place at The Whale Museum at 62 First St. N., Friday Harbor, at 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 28. For more information, please contact Marcy Kober at 360-378-4710 ext. 23. There is a suggested $3.00 donation. All proceeds benefit The Whale Museum's Education Programs.
