This summer is the start of Island Stage Left’s 10th summer season and in celebration they are be remounting Shakespeare’s most mature and brilliant play, “The Tempest “ which was Island Stage Left’s first production on the island.

7 pm on Wednesdays, July 23rd - Professor Michael Best, University of Victoria, BC Emeritus Professor of English at the University of Victoria where he taught Shakespeare, English Literature, Renaissance Drama, and British Literature Coordinating Editor of the Internet Shakespeare Editions and an expert on humanities computing
July 30 @ 7 pm - Professor John Coldewey, University of Washington Professor of English at the University of Washington Department of English Expertise extends through literature from Chaucer through Shakespeare, plus manuscript and textual studies, with an emphasis on medieval and renaissance drama
August 6 @ 7 pm - Professor Mary Metzger, Western Washington University Professor and Associate Chair of the English department at Western Washington University Teaches English Literature & Drama; published Shakespeare without Fear: Teaching for Understanding
August 13 @ 7 pm - Sebastian Trainor & Jeanmarie Higgins Williams, University of Washington Trainor and Higgins Williams are both doctoral candidates at the University of Washington Trainor teaches courses in theatre history and criticism for the U-W School of Drama and worked as a theatre producer in New York City, Los Angeles, and elsewhere in the U.S., with an interest in fostering Shakespearean production in contemporary American communities Higgins Williams holds an MFA in Playwriting, and teaches critical theory at Cornish College of the Arts
