12/13/2007: "Islanders Bank President Announced"

ig_Bob_Colman-1 (50k image)Dick Kneipp, Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Islanders Bank, is pleased to announce the promotion of Bob Coleman to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of Islanders Bank.

Bob joined Islanders Bank four years ago as Senior Vice President, Branch Administration. Bob has also held the positions of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Islanders Bank.

Islanders Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Banner Corporation, remains the only independent, state chartered financial institution headquartered in San Juan County with banking offices located on San Juan, Orcas and Lopez islands.

Kneipp states, “We started Islanders Bank twenty-six years ago to provide financial products and services to the island communities we serve. We took great pride in establishing a team of experienced management and staff, combined with a local Board of Directors. This combination of banking expertise and local business and community knowledge gave us the advantage of making informed decisions in a timely and responsive manner.”

Coleman states, “I am proud to be a member of the Islanders Bank Team and a member of the Island Communities we serve. I appreciate the opportunity we have at Islanders Bank to continue to provide financial products, services and support primarily to the citizens of San Juan County. During the past twenty-six years, the financial services landscape in our County has changed dramatically, principally due to enhanced technology, internet banking, bank consolidations, and off island competition. I am pleased to report that Islanders Bank, as the only financial institution headquartered in San Juan County, remains fundamentally the same – we are truly “The Local Bank” with local management, local staff, local Board of Directors and local decision making opportunities. One of the things I’ve learned about life in the Islands, “Each of Us Depends On All of Us” and I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the Islanders Bank Team, to express our sincere appreciation and thank you to the many loyal and supportive friends, neighbors, businesses and associations that continue to bank with, and refer business to, Islanders Bank.”
