04/17/2017: "Mix & Mingle & Earth Day Celebration"

Earth Day is Saturday, April 22nd, and you can start celebrating early: If you have a passion for the environment, food, farming, and camaraderie, you are invited to join in April’s Green Drinks hosted by Island Grown in the San Juans at Brickworks (150 Nichols St., Friday Harbor) on Thursday April 20th from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.

This is an informal gathering of environmentally like-minded people with the purpose of networking, connecting and having fun. This special Green Drinks event is also celebrating two years of Green Drinks gatherings in Friday Harbor. There will be Island Grown Food vendors present including Paella San Juan, Snowberry Farm Crepes, and Aurora Farms BBQ serving food from 5:30 " 7:30 p.m. Drinks from San Juan Vineyards and Island Hopping available; announcements at 7:00 p.m. and a DANCE PARTY from 8:00 " 9:00 p.m. Bring cash to purchase bites and drinks of choice!

Green Drinks is an international, unstructured, self-organizing network of environmental folks or those interested in getting involved. Currently, you can find monthly Green Drinks meet up groups in 530 cities around the world. Friday Harbor's local chapter of Green Drinks was established in April of 2015 by Kelsey Green and has grown into a fabulous monthly gathering! It includes a great mix of non-profit organizations, local government, academia, agricultural producers, local business, kayak companies, whale community, Friday Harbor Labs and general community. Anyone working in the environmental field or interested in getting involved is welcome to attend. Go to for more details!

Island Grown in the San Juans is a membership organization of farmers, restaurants & retailers committed to upholding high standards for quality farm products that are good for our community, our lands, our local economy. Come and learn more while snacking on delicious tidbits provided by Island Grown farmers and chefs committed to fresh, clean, local food. Paella San Juan will be cooking up their delicious paella, Aurora Farms will be serving BBQ sliders and fresh salad, and Snowberry Farm will be offering authentic sweet crepes with local toppings.
