09/09/2011: "County Interviewing Candidates To Head Public Works"

San Juan County is in the process of conducting interviews with applicants for director of the Public Works department. A series of interview panels have reportedly been introduced to the applicants, as part of the overall evaluation process.

Unofficial reports indicate there are currently five applicants, and normal procedure is for a final two or three to be selected as the final candidates.

Under the SJC Charter it is the County Administrator that will make the final choice, since it is his job to hire and fire the non-elected officials.

The position came open when Jon Shannon stepped down from director of the department to a lesser position within the department.
