( Farrell Baker flips out in Friday Harbor (sorry, it was just too obvious))
Students from the NOVA School in Olympia recently came to San Juan County, and while in Friday Harbor, with time on their hands, and nothing much to do, decided to do a little entertainment of singing on the corner and some back flips. The entertainment was ostensibly for money, but as one young man said with a grin,: “I’m not in it for the money, but for a higher purpose.”
The NOVA School is a 501-(c)(3) non-profit organization whose students are selected “to be functioning in the top 10% academically”. The students come from over 20 elementary schools, both public and private, from all over Thurston County, and a few travel from Mason, Lewis, Pierce, and Grays Harbor Counties.
