01/31/2011: "Evaluating BAS"
Ed Kilduff will give a presentation on evaluating BAS (Best Available Science). Tuesday (2-1-11) at the SJI Grange Hall in Friday Harbor.
Mr. Kilduff resides on Lopez, is a licensed hydro- and engineering geologist in two states, and worked as a professional environmental consultant for over 20 years. Seating is limited. Please RSVP to: iwp@rockisland.com or 378-6473
Mr. Kilduff is a also a geologist with experience in the environmental field, with training and education in economics/business. He provides economic, technical, and risk analysis in support of environmental projects for the CE2 Corporation..
Mr. Kilduff is also a member of the SWAC (SJC Solid Waste Advisory Committee) and is a accredited by the Green Building Certification Institute in Low Impact Development.
Ed's interest in the Critical Areas Ordinances was sparked by the Council's passage of the Critical Aquifer Recharge Area (CARA) Ordinance in 2008. The CARA misidentified the recharge areas in the islands and failed to protect our drinking water supply. Since then, Ed has tried to prevent the same mistakes from happening for the other CAOs.
