08/26/2010: "Textbook Rental Program At Skagit Valley College"

ig_Books-001 (29k image)Beginning Fall Quarter, Skagit Valley College’s Cardinal Bookstore will offer a new textbook rental program designed to deliver savings and convenience to new and returning SVC students.

The innovative program will allow students to rent their textbooks for 30 to 70 percent of the cost of purchasing a new printed textbook.

Books can be rented by visiting the bookstore’s rental website at http://cardinalbookstore.rentsbooks.com. Students can simply search for the textbook they need for class and rent it. At the end of the quarter, students return the book at no cost.

Textbook rentals are increasingly becoming a popular option for students looking to reduce their educational expenses. SVC’s Cardinal Bookstore is committed to providing students with a wider range of content options and price points.

Whether students are interested in new books, used, digital, unbound, bundled, or now rentals, they can find what they want at the college’s bookstore or through its website.

The textbook rental program is available to students at the San Juan Center, as well as any SVC location: Mount Vernon Campus, Whidbey Island Campus, and South Whidbey Center.

For students who study online. The program includes the following features:
* Students can highlight or mark rented books just as they would with a purchased book.

* The rental period is for the duration of the quarter. Books are due back no later than 10 daysafter the last day of finals.

* Standard shipping for rental books is free. Express or Express Plus service is available for a nominal charge.

* Courtesy emails will go out as the end of the quarter approaches reminding students to return their books.

* Books not returned (or returned in unusable condition) will be subject to replacement and processing fees.

For more information about the textbook rental program, contact the SVC Cardinal Bookstore at (360) 416-7728 or visit http://www.cardinalbookstore.com/
