03/02/2010: "A County Council Early Start Tuesday On A Full Agenda"

The County Council will get a 9:00 am early start Tuesday (03-02-10) on a number of hot topics on their agenda..

At 10:00 am they will have a discussion (via an internet connection) with Professor Paul Adamus on “local wetlands science”, and a review of a contract with Adamus for consulting work on Best Available Science (BAS) for San Juan County.

After a lunch break at 12:00 pm, County Administrator Pete Rose will present for discussion a 2009 annual report from the SJC Economic Development Council (EDC), and the EDC 2010 Work Plan .

This will be followed by the 2010 Work Plan 2010 Work Plan from the Agricultural Resources Committee (ARC).

The third item is the second review of a Vendors’ Ordinance that became the subject of litigation when Gary Franco of Lopez filed suit in SJC Superior Court.

The last 1:00 pm agenda item is a proposal to move sheriff and juvenile service office space into the Lopez Fire Distinct headquarters -a move that may result in deficit spending
