01/28/2010: "Friday Meeting On Affordable Housing"
San Juan County is participating in a grant funded community-wide affordable housing planning project, and an ad-hoc group of citizens from several islands and multiple segments of the community have been invited to participate in the meeting to discuss the planning project.
The meeting will take place Friday (01-29-10) at the Orcas Hotel, from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM. The meeting is open to the public.
The The Housing Bank Commission is one of the groups invited to attend, however they will not chair the meeting, and no regular business of the Commission will be conducted.
BACK GROUND:
The Housing Bank Commission Recommends affordable housing goals, strategies and programs to meet the affordable housing needs of the County. Assists the Council in creating a permanent, local funding source to complement federal, state and private funds, and performs other related powers and duties. This committee consists of seven members serving four-year staggered terms.
The County Council Liaison to the Housing Bank Commission is Bob Myhr. The Commission Chair is William Agosta; the members are Sandy Bishop; Brian Ehrmantraut; Noel Monin; Michael Roger, and Gary Tabasinske.
