10/19/2009: "Going, Going...Sold!"

Friday Harbor Hardware was auctioned off from the court house steps to the highest bidder last week, and that bidder was Danmoor LLC, owned by Lynn Danaher and Dave Moorhouse, both of Friday Harbor.

While Ace Hardware is rummored to be dropped -20% off sale in progress- the new owners plan to have a new tenat at the first of the year that will not only continue to maintain a hardware store, but to make it "much better than it has been."

There is an upstairs in the building, and the space will be converted into four or five "affordable space that could be used as an apartment, office or studio space."

The auction was held as part of a bankruptcy proceeding.
