09/07/2009: "New Director of the SJC College"
Skagit Valley College is pleased to announce that Randy Martin, of Friday Harbor, has been named the new Director of the San Juan Center. In addition to his role as the Center’s director, Martin will continue serving SVC as the Coordinator for the popular Elderhostel Program.
Skagit Valley College’s San Juan Center offers academic transfer courses, community education, small business development, and distance education courses.
“We are pleased that Randy Martin has accepted the role of leading the San Juan Center,” said Dr. Mick Donahue, Executive Vice President of Instruction and Student Services at SVC.
“Randy brings a deep understanding of the San Juan Islands and the needs of the community to the Center. His leadership skills in developing and managing a nationally recognized Elderhostel program make him the perfect fit to serve our students as well as the community.”
San Juan Center offers academic transfer courses, community education, small business development, and distance education courses. Fall Quarter begins Monday, September 21 and registration is going on now.
Prospective students can contact the Center’s new advisor/counselor Sandy Harold. Harold has been with SVC for many years as a faculty member, teaching Sociology and College Success.
