What is Project Graduation???
It is a drug and alcohol free party held for the seniors immediately following the graduation commencement. It is modeled after the nationally recognized program offered in hundreds of high schools across the country.
The event is sponsored by the Prevention Coalition and FHHS PTSA. The graduates will be transported to a specially selected site for an unforgettable night of dinner, dancing, entertainment, games, prizes and much more. All information is kept secret until the attendees actually get to the site. It is the last party they will attend all together for a long time. The party lasts till dawn where they will meet their parents again back at the school. It is truly the most memorable event in the student’s life following their graduation.
The purpose of this special graduation celebration is to help to prevent teenage deaths caused by drinking and driving on graduation night. The entire evening is planned for safety and security and is well chaperoned by adult volunteers.
It is an annual program that strives to perpetuate itself with each new class of senior students. Of course there are costs involved to orchestrate Project Graduation which the parents of graduates raise through FHHS PTSA fundraising activities such as the Holiday Wreath sales, Spring Rummage Sale, and this hypnotist show as well as donations from parents, the community and businesses.
If you would like to make a donation, volunteer or help us with our wish list (items and supplies needed for project grad night event to be donated or borrowed) please contact Ginny at 317-5820 or 378-5041 or virginia015@centurytel.net to learn how you can help us make this event a great success. All donations, whether monetary or otherwise, may be tax deductible. We thank you for all your support.
