06/24/2008: "The Governor Is Honorary Chair of Linde Campaign"
(Christine Gregoire)
Governor Gregoire has reaffirmed her choice of John Linde as San Juan County’s first Superior Court Judge by becoming Honorary Chair of the Committee to Retain Judge Linde .
The news was given to Judge Linde by telephone on Monday, when the General Counsel to Governor Gregoire, Richard Mitchell, phoned Judge Linde to tell him the Governor will serve as Honorary Chair of his committee.
The Superior Court Judge’s position is non-partisan. Both Judge Linde and Prosecuting Attorney Randy Gaylord had originally sought Governor Gregoire’s appointment to the position when it became open, but after an in depth application, and a review of their entire record -including personal interviews with the Governor- Judge Linde was appointed by Gregoire to sit as the San Juan Superior Court Judge; a position he holds today.
Judge Linde has the judicial endorsements of not only the governor’s office, but also of the Chief Justice of the Washington State Supreme Court, as well as the endorsements of both of the former Superior Court Judges, the Hon. Alan R. Hancock and Vickie I. Churchill.
Judge Linde was also recently appointed by the Superior Court Judges Association to the Best Practices Committee, and to the Rural Judges Committee.
