06/03/2006: "Local Resident Discount At Pelindaba Downtown"
Following an old island tradition of offering "Islander Discounts" to their loyal customers, Pelindaba Lavender, committed to continuing and increasing its value to the local community, has announced the initiation of a local resident discount program for its Downtown Café menu items in conjunction with the seasonal change to its summer menu.
Effective immediately, local residents can request a card that will provide them with a 10 percent discount on all plated meal items in the Café. This discount will also apply to these meal items when ordered as "take-out". The non-transferable cards are good all year round and are available to residents of any part of San Juan County, not just Pelindaba's home base of San Juan Island.
Stephen Robins, co-owner of Pelindaba, said "While we are all fortunate to have a large number of visitors to buoy our businesses during the good weather seasons, we recognize that a critical source of our continued success is our own community. We'd like to acknowledge their year-round loyalty by extending this discount at a time when prices all around are moving up rather than down."
Patrons of the Café will find a continuously expanding menu of savory pies, quiches, salads, soups, and chili available for consumption in the popular Café environment or on the new garden patio. There is also a renewed emphasis on take-out meals for picnics, boat rides, ferry travel, or even home consumption. Those who have little time to linger are encouraged to call 378-6900 to place orders in advance for timely pick-up.
Complementing these plated meals is what is believed to be the largest range of locally farm-baked pies, tarts, cakes, breads and cookies available in the county, as well as, of course, Pelindaba's signature lavender lemonade and its unique lavender vanilla and chocolate ice creams.
