Public Works is in the planning stages of a proposed widening of the shoulder on Pear Point Road, leading from Argyle Avenue, terminating at the Jackson Beach Road.

The tentative plan is to provide a 5' wide path on the south side of Pear Point Rd; provided, that is, if there is existing right-of-way to allow the installation without acquiring additional land.

There has also been discussion of a sidewalk on the north side of the road. Both of these proposals may be related to the upcoming construction of the new connector road between Turn Point and Pear Point Roads that Public Works hopes they will be able to begin construction this year.
