01/31/2018: "OPALCO Election Candidates Named - Nominations By Petition May Also Be Submitted By 2/23"

There are two ways to be nominated for the Board of Directors. Any qualified member (i.e. live in the district & be a member of OPALCO) may submit their nomination through a “nominations portal”. However, the Elections & Governance Committee has already recommended Richard (Rick) Christmas and Jeffrey L. Struthers as the slate of candidates for Board approval. Nevertheless, other candidates may submit a petition to be a candidate.

A petition must contain no fewer than 20 signatures of members who reside in their district. Completed petitions should be sent to bmadan@opalco.com bmadan@opalco.com. Click HERE for more information.

Candidate forums are scheduled during the week of March 12-16th on four islands to meet the candidates in person. Ballots and voting materials for the 2018 election will be sent to members on March 29th, and posted online at www.opalco.com. The election opens on March 29th and ballots are due online or by mail no later than 10:00 am PT. Election results will be announced on Saturday, April 21st at OPALCO’s Annual Meeting on the WSF Tillikum.
