Friday Harbor Port Commissioners recently conducted public interviews with four candidates who would like to replace Mike Ahrenius, who recently resigned from the commission.

Each of the candidates responded to a wide range of questions from the two remaining commissioners. For the most part all of the candidates responded similarly in a broad sense as to what they would do, and how, if appointed, and how their past experience would be relevant to issues the Port faces now, and may face in the future.

It is expected the commissioners will announce their selection decision on Friday; but there may be some extended back and forth as they move toward agreement on which of the four should join them as a port commissioner.
