• SJC population growth - +8.6% / Washington State population growth - +11.7%
• SJC college degrees - 40% / Washington State college degrees -27.7%
• SJC persons below poverty level - 9.9% / Washington State persons below poverty level 11.4%


These funds can go toward schools, libraries, EMS services, Head Start programs, food banks, family resource centers, hospitals and more, and are dispersed according to census count.

In the 2000 census only 34% of all census forms mailed to San Juan County residents were completed and returned. We need to do better than that, so that we might receive our fair share of federal funding. Please fill out your census form and mail it in.
